Topic Groups

Many of the societal and scientific challenges we face today cannot be fully understood from a single disciplinary perspective. Researchers from different fields often study similar phenomena, yet use different theories, methods, and concepts. Topic Groups bring together researchers who share an interest in a particular theme and provide a space for interdisciplinary exchange, reflection, and collaboration.

Within a Topic Group, researchers from different departments, career stages, and methodological backgrounds meet to discuss ideas, ongoing projects, theoretical developments, and emerging questions. The aim is to create opportunities for meaningful conversations that broaden perspectives, stimulate new ideas, and foster connections across disciplinary boundaries. This may or may not lead to new collaborations, projects and/or grant proposals.

Topic Groups are open, informal, and intellectually curious communities. They offer a platform for researchers to explore topics in greater depth, learn from one another, and discover unexpected links between different areas of expertise.

The Topic Groups are hosted by the Centre of Expertise Social Sciences, Health and Wellbeing (CESSHW) and are open to researchers, PhD candidates, and students who share an interest in the topic.
