Course selection

Students have to complete their course selection via our application portal 'Mobility Online' before the relevant deadline (see below).

Autumn semester/full year 2021-22 30 May
Spring semester 2021-22 1 December (may still change)
Autumn semester/full year 2022-23 1 July (may still change)

Step-by-Step guide

Step 1:

Select your courses. All available courses for exchange student can be found via the submenu Course offer.

Make sure you select a maximum of 3 courses per block from the correct semester:

  • Semester 1 (= block 1a + 1b) = autumn semester
  • Semester 2 (= block 2a + 2b) = spring semester

Workload:

A normal workload corresponds to 15 ECTS per block/ 30 ECTS per semester/ 60 ECTS per year. 15 ECTS per block correspond to 40 hours of work per week (incl. self-study). Students often underestimate the workload and should therefore not opt for more than 3 courses (= 15 ECTS) per block. Exceptions may only be granted in urgent cases.

Note: The majority of course units a student selects per semester must be given at the Faculty of Behavioural and Social Sciences!

Exchange students can freely choose from the course units available to them.
If the exchange student is in their 3rd year at the time of the exchange, they can select 1st-year, 2nd-year and 3rd-year courses.
If the exchange student is in their 2nd year of study at the time of the exchange, they can only select 1st-year and 2nd-year courses.

Step 2:

Please make sure your course selection is approved by the responsible person (coordinator, exam committee or similar) at your home university!! If this is the case, enter all courses in our Mobility Online system before relevant deadline.

Step 3:

Once you have selected your courses, please enter them in the schedule generator to see if the lectures or exams overlap (information available as of July/ November). This can occur if you choose courses from different years and/ or faculties.

Please look at our FAQ page for frequently asked questions regarding the course selection.

Upon approval of your course selection, the Mobility Office of the Faculty of Behavioural and Social Sciences will enrol you for the courses and exams.
The Mobility Office also handles the enrolment procedure for courses given at other faculties. In such cases, we contact the exchange office at the relevant faculty to check the availability of your desired course.
> Please do not try to enrol yourself for any courses or exams!
