Youth in Contemporary Society
ECTS: 30
Code: MIPA30*
This English-taught minor programme introduces students to key topics surrounding youth and education, with a focus on understanding the lives of young people and the societal contexts in which they grow up. The programme explores how family violence and juvenile delinquency affect development; examines the complex interplay of socio-contextual factors that shape youth suicide, wellbeing, and resilience; investigates processes of marginalization and social exclusion; and critically reflects on contemporary ideas of childhood that underpin parenting and schooling practices. Through lectures, seminars, and project groups, students expand their knowledge of youth-related issues while developing a critical perspective on contemporary themes and debates concerning young people.
The 30 ECTS minor comprises the entire first semester (1a+1b). Alternatively, students can sign up for individual courses.
