Short bio

Julian Yolles is originally from the Netherlands and received a BA in Classics at the University of Amsterdam and a MA in Theology from Utrecht University. He is currently a PhD student in Medieval Latin at Harvard University and a William R. Tyler Fellow in Byzantine Studies at the Dumbarton Oaks Research Library in Washington, DC, where he is writing a dissertation titled "Reading and writing in the Latin East: Latin culture in the Crusader States (1099-1187)." Among his forthcoming publications is a critical edition of a twelfth-century versification of Josephus' Jewish War by a prior of the Templum Domini, to appear in the Crusades publication.
