The Mechanics Department has a wide range of machinery and equipment, conventional as well as computer controlled (CNC). It also has facilities for Electric Discharge Machining (EDM): two machines for wire spark erosion and one machine for zinc erosion.
The Mechanics Department documents and keeps an archive of all its products. This means that the knowledge remains accessible and follow-up projects, modifications and adjustments can be dealt with effectively.
Directives such as the Machinery Directive and the Pressure Equipment Directive (PED) are available for consultation at the Mechanics Department.
An overview of general and specific standards is available on request.
