Matching at the Faculty of Science and Engineering
Before you start a Bachelor’s degree programme, you want to be sure you choose the programme that fits you best in terms of level and content. The matching process helps you to determine whether you are making the right choice. After completing the online matching process you will receive an advice concerning your Bachelor’s degree programme choice.
Matching is mandatory for all students who want to start one of the Bachelor’s degree programmes mentioned below on September 1, 2021. The advice you receive about your choice of Bachelor’s degree programme is not binding. This means that you cannot be rejected based on the matching advice you receive.
If you apply for one of the following Bachelor’s degree programmes, you will participate in the matching process of the Faculty of Science and Engineering (FSE)*:
* Please note that there is no matching process for Artificial Intelligence and Computing Science due to the selection procedures.
The matching process is online and contains the following steps:
Register in Studielink and finish your application in the Online Application System on May 1, 2021 at the latest. Apply for admission by the Admissions Board Bachelor’s Degree Programmes FSE on May 1, 2021 at the latest as well.
When you register for one of the Bachelor’s degree programmes above you are obliged to participate in the online matching process. You will receive more information and instructions about the matching process by email.
You will receive this email within two weeks after your registration in Studielink. From March 2021 on, these invitations will be sent.
Please note: if you have registered before March 2021, it will therefore take longer than two weeks before you receive your invitation.
If you have not received the invitation email within this timeframe please send an email to matching.beta rug.nl. Mention your studentnumber in this e-mail.
Advice on your choice of Bacholor’s degree programme
After finishing the matching process you will receive an email with an advice on your Bachelor’s degree programme choice. This advice is not binding. This means that you cannot be rejected based on the matching advice you receive.
Matching is mandatory for all students. Note that matching is not the same as admission. Matching and admission are two separate processes, each with their own deadlines; you need to finish both these processes in time. These processes are not related. If you do not have an admissible Dutch diploma profile, please go to the website of the Admissions Board Bachelor Programmes FSE to find more information about the admission procedure.
Once you have completed the matching process for a specific Bachelor’s degree programme, you cannot be rejected from that Bachlor’s degree programme, unless you do not fulfill one of the other admission requirements. If you do not finish the matching process in time you will not be allowed to start the Bachelor’s degree programme in September.
