1. Admission Procedure

Am I admissible?

If you hold one of the following Bachelor’s degrees, you are considered to have sufficient knowledge and skills and will be admitted to the Master’s programme in Computational Cognitive Sciences.

  • Artificial Intelligence (University of Groningen);

  • Information Science (University of Groningen).

If you have unconditional access to the Master's programme, you do not have submit an admisson request, you may simply register in Studielink for the Master's programme.

For holders of another Bachelor’s degree in Artificial Intelligence, Psychology, Cognitive Science, or other relevant programmes there is an individual admission procedure based on the content of the respective Bachelor’s programme. The Board of Admissions will assess the application and decide whether the applicant has sufficient background to register for the programme.

Pre-master

Are you currently enrolled in a Dutch (HBO) Bachelor’s programme and interested in one of our Master’s programmes? A Pre-master’s programme may be offered to students with a Dutch Bachelor’s degree who have covered some but not all key subjects in their own degree. Also, students with a relevant (HBO) degree are not directly admissible but can be offered a Pre-master’s programme.

Admission to the Pre-master’s programme is granted and the content is set on an individual basis by the Board of Admissions on the basis of the documents you supply and depends on the knowledge obtained in the Bachelor's programme. We offer individually determined Pre-master’s programmes, which are listed in our online course catalogue Ocasys.

The Board of Admissions will consider your application and when accepted, will assign you a Pre-master’s programme. The content and number of ECTS of a Pre-master’s programme is depending on your background. If you are admitted, you will receive an admission letter outlining the content of your Pre-Master’s programme. A Pre-Master’s programme consists of course units, each carrying a credit value of 5 ECTS.

The starting date for a Pre-master programme is 1 September.

After successfully finishing the Pre-master’s programme you can start the Master’s programme in the following academic year.

 You can apply for a Pre-master's programme by submitting an admission request.
