Studying in the Netherlands

According to a 2013 Report by U21 (Universitas 21), The Netherlands ranks among the Top 10 of countries worldwide when it comes to educational systems:

Overall, the top 10 countries in rank order are the United States, Sweden, Switzerland, Canada, Denmark, Finland, the Netherlands, Australia, Singapore and the United Kingdom. The countries making the top 10 are the same as in the 2012 Rankings except that Singapore has replaced Norway which falls to equal 11th, largely due to a fall in its public expenditure on higher education as a share of GDP.

You can thus be assured of the quality of our education. What some people do not know yet, is that many of the programmes offered in the Netherlands are offered in English! In addition, most Dutch people speak English. This means that you do not have to be able to speak Dutch at all, but if you come to the University of Groningen for a longer period, for instance for a degree programme, it may be nice to learn the language for cultural reasons. In that case, the University will offer you an introduction to Dutch.
