Welcome to the Honours Festival of the Goodall Cohort!
The Honours Festival is the final activity of the broadening part of the Honours College programme that students do before they complete the programme. This part is organized to encourage honours students to approach current scientific and societal problems from different interdisciplinary perspectives and to translate this into a vision for the future. It consists of a broadening knowledge component, a skills component (such as academic writing, effective collaboration, being persuasive), and a component focused on personal development (self-knowledge and reflection). For today’s festival, the students have prepared all kinds of engaging activities in which they will present the results of their research projects, applying the knowledge and skills they have gained throughout the Honours Programme.
During the afternoon, you can experience many interesting and interactive activities organized by honours students. The subjects of the activities vary from sustainability to philosophy and many more. There is also an opportunity to enjoy a cup of coffee or tea.
After these activities, there will be a few speeches which are, for our guests, streamed in several of the largest rooms in the Academy Building. Afterwards, at the Honours Ceremony, the Honours College medal will be awarded by the faculty coordinators to their ‘own’ honours students in various rooms (at th bottom of this web page, you will find the Honours Ceremony per faculty).
Following the ceremony, there will be drinks. Later in the evening, the Honours College Study Association (HCSA) will host a gala.
We hope you enjoy the programme and have a great time celebrating the success of our amazing Goodall graduates!
Warm regards,
Prof. Joke Fleer, Dean of the Honours College and Honours College Festival team
