As the Dynamic Island Landscapes Summer School, we are presenting an immersive experience of Schiermonnikoog. This walk-through exhibition brings Schiermonnikoog to life through real stories, visuals, and other sensory elements. Visitors can delve into the island’s history and its evolution over time, whilst understanding how the island is poised to change in the future. The exhibition features video projections of the dynamic seascapes of Schiermonnikoog, a look at the biodiversity, and a collective map tracing personal journeys from real-life interviews to evoke a deeper connection to the island. The goal of the exhibition is to not just show Schiermonnikoog, but to invite reflection on how people connect to the island and the importance of making it unique.
