Education Honours College Honours Festival

Honours Festival

The Honours Festival is the final activity of the broadening part of the Honours College programme, completed by third-year Honours students. During the festival, students present their projects in Atelier Groups, addressing current scientific and societal issues explored in the Broadening Module, on-site Field Experience, and Atelier. Through interactive, creative, and engaging activities, they showcase the interdisciplinary knowledge and skills developed throughout the programme.

A wide range of attendees come to the festival, including lecturers, students from within and beyond the Honours College, as well as friends, family, and other interested attendees from the wider university. There is also an opportunity to enjoy a cup of coffee or tea. Attendees can participate in a live poll to vote for the Atelier that inspires them most, making the event both interactive and festive.

Since 2012, the festival has been held in the Academy Building in Groningen. It highlights the collaboration between Honours students and lecturers and concludes the programme with a memorable afternoon.

Please note: the Honours Festival 2026 will take place on 24 June.
