International Student Associations
There are several international student associations at the University of Groningen. Their activities range from providing useful information and fun activities for foreign students to organising international congresses. For more information please visit their websites below.
AEGEE is an interdisciplinary student association, which promotes a unified Europe, cross-border co-operation, communication, integration among students.
African Student Community (ASC) at the University of Groningen (UG)
AIESEC is the largest student-run organization in the world, active in 130 countries and still growing. AIESEC offers internship-opportunities and voluntary projects all across the globe and stimulates participants to be more conscious of their own personal development.

BEST is a European wide association for students to participate in extra curricular knowledge and skills, while roaming Europe. It does this through its seasonal courses (similar to summer schools), engineering competitions and training network. There are currently 96 local groups and RUG has now got a BEST group since May 2017.

ESN is the organization that takes care of all the international students coming to the University of Groningen and promotes studying abroad to Dutch students.
HOST is a student organization based on Christian values with the aim to provide hospitality for international students from all around the world, regardless of their background.
International Federation of Medical Students’ Associations. The IFMSA is represented in 98 countries and organizes internships, congresses, workshops, lectures and a lot more.

Netherlands organization for international cooperation in higher education. Their website offers information on several subjects: Development Cooperation, Internationalization, International Recognition and Certification, the International Marketing of Dutch Higher Education, and Nuffic as Organization.
SIB-Groningen is the Student Association for International Relations, that organises a lecture and drinks every Monday evening. SIB has members of all kinds of different studies, both University and HBO students.
