Education Exchange

Exchange

A short stay abroad can be a lifelong advantage. Our exchange programmes, non-degree courses or summer schools give students a taste of what life in Groningen is like.

Already a RUG student? Please look on the Student Portal for more information on studying abroad.

These programmes vary from one week to six months. It may even lead to the decision to follow one of our degree programmes. The University of Groningen has exchange agreements with universities all over the world and offers a wide range of courses for exchange students. These courses are mainly for students who are in the final year of their Bachelor's programme and for students who are taking a Master's programme. Most exchange students stay for a period of three to twelve months. Exchange periods are September-February and February-July.

To study in Groningen as an exchange student, your university needs to have an exchange agreement with the University of Groningen. The exchange co-ordinator of your university will inform you about the available courses and any selection procedures.
