Tuition fees when enrolled in more than one degree programme

You can simultaneously enrol in more than one degree programme. Depending on the tuition fees category that applies to the different degree programmes, you will then either have to pay the statutory tuition fees once or separate tuition fees for each programme.

More than one enrolment for statutory tuition fees

If you are registered at a university or a university of applied sciences in the Netherlands for the statutory tuition fees, and you enrol in the same academic year for a second Bachelor’s or Master’s degree programme for statutory tuition fees at the University of Groningen, you will not have to pay tuition fees for the second degree programme, unless the amount you paid for the first enrolment is lower than the statutory tuition fees. In the latter case you will have to pay the difference. You must submit a BBC declaration (proof of payment of tuition fees) with your request for registration.

More than one enrolment for statutory tuition fees and university tuition fees

If you are simultaneously enrolled in a degree programme for statutory tuition fees and a degree programme for which you have to pay university tuition fees, you must pay tuition fees for each separate programme.

  • Total amount = tuition fees for degree programme 1 + tuition fees for degree programme 2 + ...

More than one enrolment for university tuition fees

If you are simultaneously enrolled in more than one degree programme, for all of which you have to pay university tuition fees, you must pay tuition fees for each separate programme.

  • Total amount = tuition fees for degree programme 1 + tuition fees for degree programme 2 + ...
