AI Tools in Excel

Excel is one of the most widely used tools in the workplace, but are you getting the most out of it? In this workshop, we explore how AI can help you work faster and smarter in Excel. We will explain ways to use AI chatbots to get instant help with formulas and data questions, and discover how integrated AI features in Excel can automate your work.

First, we cover relevant information about the use of AI Tools in Excel, and discuss potential pitfalls that come with the usage of AI tools for work. Then, it is up to you, and you will try out these tools during exercises with personal guidance. After this workshop, you are able to apply AI with Excel and incorporate this within your workflow. No advanced experience required, but basic experience with Excel and some familiarity with AI Tools is expected.

Who Should Attend?

This workshop is for academic staff, researchers, teachers, supporting staff, and other professionals who want to get more out of their Excel usage.

It is not required to have used AI Tools before, but you are expected to already know what it is and to have basic experience with Excel.

Content

The first hour of the workshop will be a presentation and discussion session, in which we will discuss how to use AI safely and introduce the tools. The remaining part of the workshop is focused on hands-on learning, during which you will experiment with integrating AI usage with Excel. During this session, you will learn how to use these tools and how they can be applied to your work.

• No preparation is required for this workshop.
• You are recommended to bring your own laptop. If you cannot bring your own laptop, please indicate this in the enrollment form.

Attendance is free for UG staff and PhD-students, but registration is required.
