English Language Proficiency
All exchange students need to submit an English proficiency test certificate. Test certificates must not be older than 2 years at the time of application. Please see below which English proficiency test certificates and test scores we accept.
Non-EU Students
- TOEFL iBT: 90 (min. 18 on section scores)
- IELTS (Academic): 6.5 (min. 6.0 on section scores)*
- Cambridge C1/CAE or Cambridge C2/CPE Certificate with grade A, B or C
* We do not accept IELTS Online certificates
EU Students
CEFR test: overall score, speaking and writing score of B2
Exceptions
Have completed/will complete entire secondary/higher education in one of these countries. USA, UK, Ireland, New Zealand, Australia, Canada (English speaking provinces/territories), Antigua and Barbuda, The Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Grenada, Guyana, Jamaica, Trinidad and Tobago, St Kitts and Nevis, St Lucia and St Vincent and the Grenadines. |
Scored a minimum final grade of 7 for the English course for the Dutch VWO diploma. |
Obtain(ed) a Dutch HBO Propaedeutic diploma taught and assessed in English. |
Scored a minimum final grade of 10 for the English course at Leistungskurs (LK) / erhörtere Anforderungsniveau (eA) for the German Zeugnis der Allgemeinen Hochschulreife |
Obtain(ed) an International Baccalaureate diploma, with English as the medium of instruction. |
Obtain(ed) an European Baccalaureate diploma from a European School or one of the Accredited European Schools and have (completed) English as final exam subject as L1 or L2. |
Have obtained/will obtain at least 3 GCE(A) level certificates from one of the recognized British examination boards. |
Obtain(ed) the French Option Internationale du Baccalaur éat (OIB) section Britannique / Anglais. |
Obtain(ed) the South African National Senior certificate with IEB Advanced Programme certificate in English with 55% or more. |
Have obtained/will obtain the Singapore/Cambridge A-levels in at least 3 H2 and 1 H1 content* courses (of which at least 1 course in a contrasting discipline) together with either the course General Paper or Knowledge and Inquiry (5 courses in total). |
