About us Campus Fryslân Research at Campus Fryslân

Research and Education

Our research is connected to real-world challenges. We engage in community-based practices to tackle social  inequalities, for example by promoting healthy nutrition or sustainable tourism. We collaborate with NGOs and local governments to preserve endangered bird species. At the global level, we contribute to major breakthroughs in scientific knowledge, such as the United Nations IPCC report.

These research activities directly inform our teaching across interdisciplinary programs such as the BSc Global Responsibility and Leadership and MSc Sustainable Futures. Students engage with real-world sustainability challenges through interdisciplinary curriculum, research projects, and collaborations with external partners, developing the skills needed to address complex societal transitions.
