29 January 2020

Today, eleven lecturers of the University of Groningen battled for the title Lecturer of the Year 2019 in the Aula of the Academy Building. This year, the title was awarded to Berend Roorda of the Faculty of Law.

This afternoon, the nominated lecturers took turns to give a short lecture, each one lasting about 10 minutes. At the end of the afternoon, the jury announced the UG Lecturer of the Year 2019. The winner received a prize of € 5.000, donated by the COWOG Fund, a work of art and an invitation to develop and give a course unit for the Honours College. The two runners-up received each € 2.500.

The Extended Board of Campus Fryslân nominated Dr Thomas Long for this prestigious award. Thomas Long is an assistant professor for the Sustainable Entrepreneurship masters at Campus Fryslân.
