High school pupils discover data at Data Research Centre

28 February 2020

A group of havo and vmbo high school pupils from Tytsjerksteradiel discovered the world of data at the Data Research Centre and DataFryslân. The students spent a day at Campus Fryslân tackling current data-related issues.

Case studies

Researchers from the Data Research Centre introduced the students to modern day case studies. Students discussed and collaborated on data-related issues, such as fitness apps giving away locations of secret army bases and further issues with location tracking phones.

Project

The students took part in a project by the municipality of Tytsjerksteradiel. With the project, the municipality aims to stimulate the youth in their enthusiasm for data.
