You may be required to take this pre-master if you:

• have a university of applied sciences diploma (HBO), or

• have a university degree in a non-related field and need a foundation in programming or speech technology, or

• are a professional wanting to transition into speech technology.

• have a university of applied sciences diploma (HBO), or

• have a university degree with insufficient credits in business/economics and research methods.

This premaster focuses on essential research methods so you can confidently transition into the master.

You may be required to take this pre-master if you:

• have a university of applied sciences diploma (HBO) or

• hold a university degree in any field but have fewer than 5 ECTS in research methods.

• Start: February 2027 (Leeuwarden, online possible)

• Duration: 3 or 5 months, depending on your research-methods deficiency

• Application deadlines: 15 October 2026 (non-EU), 15 January 2027 (EU & Dutch)

To be admitted, you need sufficient English proficiency and an academic Bachelor’s degree in Linguistics, Artificial Intelligence or Computer/Computing Science.

Students with a research university bachelor’s degree in another field are also encouraged to apply. The Admissions Board will assess your profile.

• International diploma: 1 May 2026

To be admitted, you need sufficient English proficiency and an academic Bachelor’s degree from a research university that includes business and economics related courses and either a Bachelor’s thesis or research methods courses.

Students with a research university bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, International Business, Economics, Spatial Planning, Behavioural and Social Sciences and Humanities are also encouraged to apply. The Admissions Board will assess your profile.

To be admitted, you need sufficient English proficiency and an academic Bachelor’s degree in Geography, Tourism, Liberal Arts & Sciences or Social Sciences.
