For whom? Young researchers, entrepreneurs and representatives of governmental organizations, companies and nonprofit organizations, with specific interests in the subject of sustainability and all the societal changes that come with it.

We are happy to invite you to join us and our partners in business, government, and academia at the online Meet & Greet Young Researchers: Social Innovations for Sustainability. This Meet & Greet is organized by the Groningen Graduate Schools (as part of the Career Perspectives Series) in collaboration with the team of Industry Relations and the Dean of the Federation of Graduate Schools in Social Sciences and Humanities.

Sustainability has become the key driver of innovation. It creates opportunities as well as challenges. The focus is often put on technological innovations but what do all of these new insights and changes do to people, as a whole as well as individually? What are the drivers of social and behavioural change (moral, economic, legal, etc.) towards sustainability, how does society respond to change, and where can we (Universities and societal partners) work together to address the challenges towards accepting and adopting sustainable behaviours?

The University of Groningen addresses these opportunities and challenges in research and education. Moreover, the University of Groningen aims to realize societal impact by working with external partners. During the Meet & Greet, we offer young researchers, entrepreneurs and representatives of governmental organizations, companies and nonprofit organizations the opportunity to meet with each other, discuss the latest insights and explore potential new research collaborations.

When? Friday September 10, 2021 from 1 to 4.15 PM (walk-in and registration starts at 12.30)
Where? Online

The four main themes of the Meet & Greet will be Energy Transition, Food Sustainability, Social Inclusion and Social Entrepreneurship. During the online event there will be roundtable sessions dedicated to the four themes and speed-date sessions where you can meet with talents.

There will also be a ‘poster room’ where guests can browse through posters made by PhD candidates, postdocs as well as our external partners in the field of social sustainability.

More details on the program and a link for registration will follow soon!

We are looking forward to meeting you on Friday September 10, 2021.
