A Student Meal

‘Sitting on the rotan chair, I made my own warm meal on an electric hot plate that was on the ground. A small saucepan and mini frying pan were the attributes. Fantasy would have played a major role in the preparation, as I can’t remember the extremely simple menus. What I can remember, is that I needed to be creative when a fellow student would come for dinner. The sauce for the macaroni was cooked in the saucepan and then kept warm in a cookie jar on a tea light. Then, the saucepan was used again for cooking the macaroni. In the absence of a table we would eat on the bed.’
