Improved prosperity without economic growth

The Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research (NWO) recently awarded a prestigious Vici grant to Prof. Herman de Jong. The professor of Economic History has 1.5 million to spend on research into the European prosperity paradox concerning the 1913-1950 era, a time when economic stagnation coincided with a rapid improvement in quality of life.
