Honorary doctorate for Desmond Tutu
Nobel Prize winner Desmond Tutu has been awarded an honorary doctorate by the University of Groningen. The South African archbishop was nominated by the Faculty of Theology and Religious Studies in honour of his remarkable chairmanship of the Truth and Reconciliation Committee and for his major social accomplishments in the field of healthcare.
