Embracing for centuries on end

29 January 2014

Last summer, Sofia Voutsaki, professor of Greek archaeology, found a grave containing a man and a woman in an embrace. Her find was made near Ayios Vasilios, twelve kilometres south of the Greek city of Sparta, in a cemetery dating to 1600-1500 BC. An international group of archaeologists has named the site one of the ten most important in the world.

The weekly online video magazine Unifocus highlights topics related to the University of Groningen in the fields of research and society, student life, teaching, policy and internationalization.
