Embracing for centuries on end

Last summer, Sofia Voutsaki, professor of Greek archaeology, found a grave containing a man and a woman in an embrace. Her find was made near Ayios Vasilios, twelve kilometres south of the Greek city of Sparta, in a cemetery dating to 1600-1500 BC. An international group of archaeologists has named the site one of the ten most important in the world.
