From creative idea to innovation: how does that work?
Is it better to give creative employees autonomy, or does pressure bring out their creativity? How does that work in a team? And how can those creative ideas be adapted to benefit organizations? Bernard Nijstad is going to spend the next five years researching the relationship between creativity and innovation at no fewer than one hundred different companies.
To do this, he wants to collaborate closely with businesses from the north of the Netherlands. Nijstad: ‘What makes one business more successful than another? I want to share the knowledge we develop in response to that question with the organizations where the research will be conducted.’ The Professor of Decision-Making and Organizational Behaviour has been awarded a prestigious Vici grant by the NWO for his research project.
