Gulu University and University of Groningen sign Memorandum of Understanding

Following the signing of a Letter of Intent in July, Gulu University and the University of Groningen have now formalised their partnership with a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). On 29 September, Prof. George Openjuru, Vice Chancellor of Gulu University, signed the agreement in the presence of Prof. Josje van der Linden (FBSS).
The MoU lays the foundation for closer cooperation between the two institutions in research, education, and knowledge exchange. It reflects a shared commitment to addressing pressing societal challenges through joint initiatives.
Current examples of this collaboration include the UNESCO Chair for Lifelong Learning, Youth and Work, jointly held by Prof. van der Linden and Dr. Robert Jjuuko of Gulu University, and a new application underway for a UNESCO Chair in Trauma Therapy, Psychosocial Support and Social Work.
The signing marks an important milestone in strengthening academic ties between the two universities and paves the way for further joint projects in the years ahead.
