CoRE IPD Online Seminar: ‘Exiting’ Segregated Spaces, Creating Wealth? Racial Wealth Divide and Spatial Mobility in Post-Apartheid South Africa
On Thursday 5 March, CoRE IPD will host its second online seminar in a series exploring key issues in inequality, poverty, and deprivation.
Arindam Jana (University of Cape Town) will present a talk titled:
“‘Exiting’ Segregated Spaces, Creating Wealth? Racial Wealth Divide and Spatial Mobility in Post-Apartheid South Africa.”
Arindam is an economist with nearly two decades of experience spanning both policy and academic research. His work focuses on developing analytical frameworks to better understand spatial inequalities in urban contexts. His current research explores three key areas: the mechanics of wealth accumulation; the impact of economic transitions on urban morphology; and the role of data ecosystems in spatial decision-making.
