Latin America
The University of Groningen has been engaged with Latin America since the 2000s. We collaborate with universities, researchers, and students across the region on doctoral education, joint research, educational innovation, and academic mobility. Our Latin America Office, based in Mexico City, is your first point of contact.
Whether you are exploring a possible PhD, building a research collaboration, organizing a visit, or thinking about institutional cooperation, we can help you navigate UG or a Latin American partner institution and connect with the right people.

Our approach in Latin America
Our approach in Latin America
UG works with academic counterparts across Latin America in many forms, from individual research collaborations and exchanges to long-standing institutional partnerships. We are open to new contacts and to collaborations that arise organically from research, teaching, or shared interest.
A core focus of UG's regional engagement is its Strategic Partnership Framework (SPF): a university-wide policy that concentrates resources on a select group of leading partners worldwide, supported by dedicated funding, academic ambassadors, and coordination structures. The framework is open to expansion as the network develops.
