The Next Step for UG Educational Development

Educational experts from the former Teaching Academy Groningen (TAG) and of several teams of Educational Support and Innovation (CIT-ESI) will continue together under the flag of the University of Groningen Centre for Teaching and Learning (CTL). We see this as an important step forward for the educational community and environment of the University of Groningen.

The CTL brings together expertise that was previously embedded in different organisational units to strengthen educational development across the university.

What the CTL does

The CTL supports educational staff and the University of Groningen in continuously improving educational quality, adapting to emerging technological and societal developments impacting education and turning institutional ambitions into meaningful educational innovations.

We aim to accomplish this by inspiring and enabling connection and collaboration across the University’s vibrant educational community. Because real, meaningful change is accomplished together.

How can we support educational staff?

We aim to support educational staff in their continuous professional development as well as the development and improvement of their educational practices, and in turn the University as a whole in improving education.

The CTL offers teacher professionalization courses and qualifications, provides advice regarding educational design and educational grant applications, gives guidance for the use of educational technologies, supports various Communities of Practice and organizes events to bring together the educational community of the University of Groningen.
