In a world of abundance, food consumption presents increasing challenges. On the one hand, people tend to overconsume, contributing to the global rise in obesity. On the other hand, a significant amount of food is wasted, an average of 74 kg per person per year. Addressing this issue requires a shift from more to less.

In this free lecture, Dr. Amber Werkman shares insights from her research on the effects of smaller portions and how they can promote healthier and more sustainable eating habits. During the lecture, you’ll even get the chance to taste for yourself how satisfying and delicious smaller portions can be!

This lecture is part of the 'Meer Gezonde Jaren' series, a collection of inspiring events focused on topics that contribute to your health and well-being. We explore the worlds of sleep and nutrition and examine the impact of social media on mental health. But we also look beyond—what can we learn from birds, creatures that are so naturally in tune with the world and with each other?

This series is an initiative of the RUG, UMCG and HANNN.
