Inspiring stories of failure from UG alumni

We usually hear success stories, but behind many successes often lie big mistakes. On the evening of Monday 25 November, three enterprising UG alumni will share openly how a blunder almost cost them a project – or even their career.

Wies van ’t Slot, Yvonne van der Woude and Wiepkje de Groot will share their inspiring stories of failure with other UG alumni during a ‘F*ck-Up Night’. This concept originates in Mexico and has grown into a global movement, in which groups of people meet up and share their mistakes. This is inspiring, because:

• We usually hear success stories, but behind many successes often lie big mistakes.
• Each mistake brings its own message and lesson.
• This is a different way of networking: rather than trying to sell yourself, you now also share your blunders. Thus, you are able to connect in a different way.

The event is organized by the Young Alumni Network of the University of Groningen.
