Symposium ‘Cellular Metabolism in Disease: Friend or foe’
When: | We 20-12-2017 09:00 - 19:30 |
Where: | ERIBA building, UMCG |
In this symposium, organized by and mainly for PhD students, we will discuss the role of cellular metabolism and bioenergetics in the regulation and progression of human diseases. Our aim is to generate a collaborative international platform between the Chilean and Dutch scientific communities in order to learn from each other and improve research in this area.
Two international keynote speakers will take us on a journey through their most recent advances and discoveries in the field of metabolism.
- Dr. César Cardenas, professor at the University of Chile in Santiago, will talk about calcium transfer from the endoplasmic reticulum to mitochondria in cancer metabolism.
- Dr. Robert Bandsma, assistant professor at the University of Toronto, Canada, will present his research focused on metabolism in severely malnourished children, in which clinical research, in vivo and in vitrowork are involved.
We would like to hear about your research in oral and poster presentations.
- Please send us your abstract to cmidisease2017@gmail.com before 15 November , 2017
- If you like to present your research register for free at Eventbrite and find more information and updates in our Facebook Event
