Curriculum Vitae

Yaroslava (Yara) Marusyk is a Ph.D. candidate at the International Relations and International Organization Department of the University of Groningen working on a dissertation titled From Gas to Renewables: Norms in Energy Security and Energy Transition Discourses.

Her research interests are energy security, energy transition, sustainability, global energy governance, critical geopolitics (in particular, geopolitics of gas, renewables, and green hydrogen), and international conflict management.

In particular, she is interested in foreign and energy security policies of the EU member states, Ukraine and Russia. Also, her research focuses on Global South, China-EU climate cooperation and competition as well as their role in global climate governance.

She has an extensive working experience in public affairs/government relations, advocacy/lobbying and international project management.

Among previously held non-academic positions are American Chamber of Commerce (Kyiv, Ukraine), National Democratic Institute for International Affairs (Kyiv, Ukraine), Guangdong  AIB Polytechnic College (Guangzhou, China), Canadian Consulate General (Los Angeles, USA), Institute for Euro-Atlantic Cooperation (Kyiv, Ukraine).
