PhD project: The Normalisation of Natural Philosophy
A Digital Humanities project at the Faculty of Philosophy, at the department of the History of Philosophy. I reconstruct and investigate the (the evolution of) networks of authors and sources in early modern natural philosophy, to capture the dissemination of Cartesian and Newtonian science between 1600-1800. The integration of computational tools and methods (database development, data visualisation, network analysis in Python) with more traditional ones (like close reading) is central.
Co-Initiator: The Patio. An Interdisciplinary Research Group on Social Networks (with dr. Marc Esteve Del Valle)
The Patio is born as a meeting space for RUG researchers interested in social networks. The space houses discussions about social networks among researchers coming from a plurality of disciplinary backgrounds. These interdisciplinary discussions are expected to facilitate original research and trigger new scientific collaborations.
