I study how the invisible world of nanoscale textures shapes the forces that govern how surfaces interact. My work explores how surface roughness alters DLVO (Derjaguin–Landau–Verwey–Overbeek) forces between chemically functionalized materials, combining theoretical modeling with experimental insights. By revealing how real, non-ideal surfaces influence electrostatic and retarded van der Waals (Casimir) interactions, my research helps bridge the gap between fundamental surface science and practical applications in nanotechnology, materials engineering, and colloidal systems.
