Speerpunten

Paul Jutte (MD PhD) is orthopedisch chirurg sinds 2003. Hij voltooide een fellowship in orthopedische oncologie in Bologna (Italië) (2003) en Los Angeles (VS) (2005). Zijn doctoraat ging over spinale tuberculose (2000-2006). Zijn huidige functie is hoogleraar orthopedische chirurgie en afdelingshoofd aan het Universitair Medisch Centrum Groningen, Nederland. Hij heeft het Northern Infection Network Joint Arthroplasty (NINJA) geïnitieerd en mede opgericht en is voorzitter en lid van diverse commissies binnen en buiten het UMCG.
Zijn huidige klinische onderzoekswerk is gericht op het minimaliseren van weefselschade en het verbeteren van de diagnose, veiligheid en effectiviteit van chirurgische behandeling van tumoren en infecties. Hij publiceerde meer dan 200 peer-reviewed artikelen (H-factor >40) en is co-programmaleider van MBM (Man Biomaterials Microbes), een onderzoekslijn bij het PRECISION-instituut van de Rijksuniversiteit Groningen, Nederland.
