I am a Senior Lecturer at the Research Centre for Media and Journalism Studies at the University of Groningen (The Netherlands).

My research and teaching interests lie at the intersection of digital communication networks and social change, with a particular interest in online climate communication.

I have published over 40 peer-reviewed manuscripts in high-impact journals such as Information, Communication & Society, New Media & Society, PLOS One, Social Media+Society, Social Science Computer Review, International Journal of Communication, Convergence, Digital Journalism, Journal of Learning, Media and Technology, Policy & Internet, Javnost-The Public, Journal of Information Technology & Politics, and Media and Communication (among others).

I have received grants from the Netherlands Organization for Scientific Research, the Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation, the Netherlands eScience Center, the Climate Social Science Network, and the University of Groningen, and scholarships from the Toronto Metropolitan University, the Open University of Catalonia, and the University of Quebec in Montreal.
