General

I teach in the Bachelor programme in Human Geography and Planning, as well as in the Master in Population Studies and the Research Master in Spatial Sciences. I am involved in teaching in the following programmes and courses:

Bachelors in Human Geography and Planning, and Spatial Planning and Design

• Guest lectures in Healthy Ageing (optional course)

• Supervision of Bachelorprojects in HGP and SPD, around themes related to a healthy living environment. Recent examples include: mobility and well-being in Noordenveld, walkability in Groningen

• Honours: Health Geographies (once every two years)

Master Population Studies

• Guest lectures in the course Population, Health & Place
• Master thesis supervision on topics related to ageing, everyday mobility, migration and well-being. Examples: quality of life with Aquired Brain Injury in Europe; age-friendly environments on the countryside in Drenthe; accessibility of amenities for older adults in the Northern Netherlands; informal caregiving by the 'sandwich generation' in Indonesia.
• In 2025/26, I am chairing the Programme Committee of the Master Population Studies

 Research Master Spatial Sciences

• Joint Multidisciplinary Research Project, with dr. Billie de Haas (year 1)

• Supervision of Individual Research Trainings (IRTs) and Master theses on topics such as mobility and well-being in later life; social capital in deprived urban neighbourhoods; home-making after stroke.
