SHAREPAIR (Digital Support Infrastructure for Citizens in the Repair Economy) is an Interreg North-West Europe project that develops digital tools and an open repair data infrastructure to help citizens repair electrical and electronic products and reduce waste. It brings together cities, universities and civil-society organisations to scale up repair cafés and home repair, improve access to repair knowledge and spare parts, and support policies for a more circular economy. At the University of Groningen, I model how expanded repair and sharing practices influence household energy use and greenhouse gas emissions, including how re-spending of saved time and money affects energy use, emissions, and the wider economy.
