Research interests

My expertise is in plant physiology and genomics. With those tools I try to understand the mechanism by which plants adapt and acclimate to unfavorable conditions. I have a particular interest in how plants pace themselves. Plants are exceptional in that they can completely stop growth and development to endure a temporary stressfull conditions. This is a strategy that does not require highly specialistic adaptations and therefore is highly ammendable to crops.
