Assistant Professor

Research interests
Gerwin Dijk's research focuses on bioelectronic medicine and the development of tools that can deliver personalized therapies for neurological disorders. His team develops microfabricated, soft, and conducting polymer-based electronic devices that are optimized to seamlessly interface with biology.
These novel neural interfaces are engineered to be autonomous and smart through energy harvesting, integrated biosensors, low-power organic semiconductor circuits and electrode arrays for electrical stimulation. Key aspects of the work includes the development of soft materials as well as reliable manufacturing and stable device performance to realize clinical translation.
