Prothrombotic changes and their anticoagulant management in liver disease and liver transplantation.
I am conducting translational research on thrombosis and hemostatic abnornalities in patients with liver disease and undergoing liver transplantation. My work focuses on understanding prothrombotic abnormalities, particularly the activation of coagulation and the role of the intrinsic coagulation pathway. In addition, I investigate how cardiometabolic risk factors, especially dyslipidemia, contribute to thrombotic risk in patients with liver disease. A third focus is the evaluation of novel antithrombotic therapies, with particular interest in Factor XI inhibitors as potentially safer strategies for preventing and treating thrombosis in this high-risk patient population.
