dr. E.L. (Bert) Kramer

Lecturer

Bert Kramer (1968) is Head of Climate Research, Climate & ESG solutions at Ortec Finance, in which role he leads a team of researchers developing new tools and methodology to derive and analyze the impact of climate change and biodiversity loss on countries, societies, economies, and financial markets. He advises large institutional investors across the globe on the impact of climate change on their assets and liabilities, and on how to align their portfolio with the Paris Agreement.

He holds a master degree in Econometrics and a Ph.D. in Business Administration from the University of Groningen, both passed cum laude. He has held an Assistant Professor of Finance position at Tilburg University, and was a lecturer at the Amsterdam School of Real Estate. Bert Kramer is a member of the Editorial Board of Netspar, the Network for Studies on Pensions, Aging and Retirement.

Within Ortec Finance his fields of expertise are the impact of climate change on financial markets, and ALM for insurance companies, housing associations and property investors. He has also been involved in extensive research projects for the Dutch Pensions and Insurance Supervisory Authority and for the Government Buildings Agency. Several of his scientific papers have won international awards.
