Research interests

My research focuses on the electrochemical conversion of renewable resources, such as water, biomass-derived and waste compounds, into value-added chemicals and fuels. In particular, I focus on the design and evaluation of low cost, high-performance electrocatalytic materials with the aim of gaining in-depth understanding on how the composition of the electrode/electrolyte interface and the operating conditions impact electrocatalyst performance and process efficiency. A strong emphasis is placed on developing novel electrochemical processes and their evaluation under application-relevant conditions.
