My research explores how knowledge of past and present landscapes can contribute to a more sustainable and resilient form of agriculture. Focusing on the Oldambt, a large arable farming region in the north of the Netherlands, I study how centuries of interaction between people and water have shaped the landscape and what lessons this may offer for regenerative agriculture.
