Christoph Humrich (*1973) studied political science, philosophy and sociology at the Universities of Hamburg/Germany and Oslo/Norway. In October 1999, he completed his graduate degree (Diplom) at the University of Hamburg with political science as major and philosophy as minor. Immediately after that he joined the Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of Mannheim/Germany, where he worked as a lecturer at the Jean Monnet Chair for European Integration and International Relations. After a Marie Curie Fellowship at the Department of International Politics at the University of Wales at Aberystwyth/UK in 2001/2002, he became a research fellow at the Mannheim Centre for European Social Research (MZES). In 2005, he took over a lectureship, later senior lectureship, at the Institute of Intercultural and International Studies (InIIS) at the University of Bremen/Germany, where he also completed his PhD. In 2009, he changed his affiliation again and became post-doc research fellow at the Peace Research Institute Frankfurt’s Research Department International Law and International Organizations. In the fall terms 2010/2011 and 2011/2012 Christoph returned to InIIS as Visiting Professor for Political Theory. In summer 2011, he was guest researcher at the Stefansson Arctic Institute in Akureyri/Iceland, and in summer 2012 research fellow at the Institute for Advanced Sustainability Studies (IASS) in Potsdam/Germany. He joined IRIO/RUG as an Assistant Professor for International Relations in August 2012.
