Dr. Carlo Ferri Marini is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Human Movement Sciences of the University of Groningen and University Medical Center Groningen. Before obtaining his PhD cum Laude at the University of Urbino, he studied at the University of Urbino, Colorado Mesa University, and University College Dublin. His research interests include aerobic and resistance exercise testing and prescription in healthy and clinical populations, with a particular focus on the exercise physiology underlying exercise intensity prescription methods. The overall aim of his research, which is pursued with several international collaborations, is to optimize exercise testing and prescription in order to maximize the benefit-to-risk ratio associated with physical activity and exercise. Carlo is an Academic Editor of “BMC Sports Science, Medicine and Rehabilitation” and “PeerJ”.
