C.A. (Chelsea) Rodriguez, PhD

Affiliated Researcher

Chelsea earned her Bachelors in History Education in 2014 (Cum laude) from Fort Lewis College, USA, and her Masters in Educational Studies in 2020 (Magna cum laude) from the Katholieke Universiteit of Leuven. Between degrees she taught high school history and psychology in Colorado, USA. 

She is part of the Research Unit Education in Culture at the Nieuwenhuis Institute for Educational Research. She completed her PhD project, 'All the School News That's Fit to Print' at the RUG, under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Johannes Westberg and Dr. Hilda Amsing. Now she is an affiliated researcher with the Educaiton in Culture research unit, and lectures part-time at KU Leuven (Belgium).

In addition to her primary research activities, Chelsea served as the chair of the PedOn PhD council, sits on the editorial board for the On_education Journal for Research and Debate and the executive committee for the International Standing Conference for the History of Education (ISCHE), and participates in two expertise groups, DEEP and the Expertise center on LGBTQ+ Issues within the BSS Faculty.
