Adrian Favero is Assistant Professor in European Politics & Society at the University of Groningen. He holds a PhD in Politics from the University of Edinburgh (2018), an MA in European Studies from the Jagiellonian University, Krakow (2014), a BA in Political Science & Communication from the University of Zurich (2012), and a BA in Primary Education from Rorschach College (2003).

Before joining the University of Groningen in 2022, Adrian worked as a post-doctoral fellow within the project Populism in Action (PiAP) at the University of Birmingham and held several teaching positions at Polish and UK Universities (Krakow, Edinburgh). At the University of Groningen, Adrian teaches within the Chair Group Politics & Society and contributes to classes for language-specific modules in French and German.

Adrian investigates how different social groups engage with the political realities within the European Union. His research is comparative in nature and focuses on attitudes towards the EU and intra-EU migration in post-communist settings. He also analyses party organizations and right-wing populism within and across European states. His research mainly draws on mixed methods approaches, including surveys and interviews.
